Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee Working With IIX On The Impact Guarantee Fund
IIX is working with Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee to develop an Impact Guarantee Fund (IGF) for investments in Social Enterprises (SEs) focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation. Leading global legal practice Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee, an IIX Ecosystem Partner, is providing pro bono legal advice regarding the establishment of the IGF.
Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee is part of a global legal practice with over 2,500 lawyers operating out of more than 40 offices. With a strong reputation for pro bono work for charities and SEs, including winning IFLR’s Asia Pro Bono Firm of the Year 2012, the practice is recognized in Singapore as a leader in international finance (including banking, project finance and capital markets), energy, corporate and arbitration work.
The IGF is a new instrument to catalyze Impact Investment in Asia-Pacific. By partially guaranteeing Impact Investments, the IGF will reduce risk for Impact Investors when investing in qualified SEs. SEs complying with criteria focused on sustainability, scalability, and social and environmental impact will be eligible for IGF support. The IGF will leverage Impact Investments in Asia-Pacific, bringing more capital to the SEs that need it most.
